🔧 Dynamic Working Lines – RWC 601
The adjacent diagram illustrates the relationship between the winding radius and the resulting wire tension force under different operating conditions of the RWC 601 winding machine.
As the winding radius increases – i.e., the coil diameter grows – the force at the winding axis decreases. The physical relationship is simple:
Power = Torque × Speed
Since the machine power remains constant, the torque decreases as the speed increases – and thus the available wire tension also decreases.
⚙️ Timing Belt Overview – RWC 601
The RWC 601 is equipped with two gearbox stages. The following overview shows the maximum speed and corresponding torque for the RWC601-PR and RWC601-SA models:
Gear Stage | Speed (RPM) | Torque – RWC601-PR | Torque – RWC601-SA |
---|---|---|---|
0 | max. 100 | max. 1400 Nm | max. 2400 Nm |
1 | max. 500 | max. 280 Nm | max. 1480 Nm |
📈 Diagram Interpretation
- The lines represent the wire tension [N] as a function of winding radius [mm] for the RWC601-PR and RWC601-SA models.
- The left Y-axis is logarithmically scaled to visualize both low and high forces.
- The right Y-axis displays typical wire diameters [mm] to assist in wire selection.
- Gear stage 0 provides high torque for large cross-sections – ideal for thick wires and large coils.
- Gear stage 1 is suitable for higher speeds with moderate tension requirements.
🧩 Practical Benefits
This visual representation supports decision-making when selecting the appropriate drive setup:
- Adjustment based on wire diameter (e.g. 0.4 mm to 20 mm)
- Consideration of the required tension range
- Depending on the desired winding speed
- Optimized for the respective coil diameter
The RWC 601 can thus be optimally configured for a wide range of applications in transformer and power engineering.
🔎 Note: The actual wire tension also depends on the wire material, the wire brake system, and friction. All values are approximate based on the gear configuration.
